I met my hubby on a Friday the 13th! Happy Friday everyone!
FAITH-
I read Proverbs 31 this morning- it talks about a wife of noble character... the qualities in this woman are amazing, and I know that I fall short (by a LONG shot!) However, it gives me guidance on what to strive for to be a better wife! I'm fortunate because I have a wonderful husband :)
I know that many people think that this is outdated, and in some aspects it is (I know that I don't have any female servants!) but if you look at the overall context it is still applicable today. I think that is the main thing when reading- pray about it, ask for understanding, and it will amaze you to see how applicable everything is in your own life!
"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." (Proverbs 31:30)
FAMILY-
Not much new to report on our family! We did get to have R for a few hours last night, which was awesome! Since my Bible reading today was on being a good wife, I'll take a minute to talk about my husband. He is such a hard worker! We've definitely had some challenging issues this past year (not between us, but just in life in general!) but he keeps his head up, his faith high, and he tries to do all that he can for our family... when there is work to do, he will be there and work hard each day. I just love him to pieces & I'm so proud of all that he has accomplished!
FITNESS-
I am SO PROUD of my bootcamper's. We just finished up a 4-week session and each & every one of them made huge improvements! I tried out some new workouts last night & this morning, and they were hard. It was designed to see how far you could push your body in an hour :) More than the physical aspect, it challenged you mentally, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON did the entire workout! Last night, we all got through it 3x. This morning (different workout), everyone finished the entire workout! (Ending a killer workout with 50 burpees?! Cruel, maybe. But effective? VERY effective!) I am so excited about that! I can't wait to see what this next session will bring. I've been designing bootcamp's for about 1.5 years now, and I continue to learn what works & what doesn't... I try to change up the classes so nobody gets bored, and I think the constant change is working well! If you're doing the workouts 3-5x per week and eating healthy, then the results will be there!
My nutrition & Whole30 (okay, it's going to just be a Whole?? because I'm not setting a definite day... I'm learning to just listen to my body instead of my brain! Brain says "sugar & caffeine!!" but my body responds much better to protein & veggies!) anyhoo, it's going great! I made it by the Farmer's Market last night after bootcamp & grabbed a cantelope and a french melon. I've never had the melon but the farmer swears that it's the best thing ever! I'm planning on cutting into it later today & I'll report back to you. Last night for dinner, I took some shredded chicken and frozen veggies and made a stir-fry. Easy, tasty, & nutritious! I also had some watermelon- all of this tasty fruit is one of my favorite things about summer time! This morning before class I had a boiled egg, then came home after class & had scrambled eggs, some shredded chicken, & avocado. (& coffee with coconut milk!)
If you're looking at Paleo or doing a Whole30, my main advice would be to always be prepared. Have food ready, cooked, & easily accessible. Also, make sure that you're educated! There are numerous websites that you can find information on (start with whole9life.com, it has TONS of information!) If you're not ready to go there yet, then make sure that you're eating clean. Read labels! Know what you are putting in your body!!
HAHA! I saw this on Pinterest :)
Alrighty everyone, have a wonderful weekend! I have a busy weekend ahead, so I don't know when I'll be back on here!
